A survey by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors of its members has found that most believe the new Land and Buildings Transaction Tax (LBTT) will deliver a boost to the housing market this year. They expect the new tax, along with the reform of stamp duty announced by Chancellor George Osborne in December, to stimulate activity in the market, as house buyers will face fewer up-front costs than they would have in 2014.
